Healthy Snacks For Summer

As the days heat up and summer quickly approaches, it is a great time to learn some new recipes for fun, healthy, summery snacks. These recipes are perfect for parents looking to teach some easy cooking skills or even for confident kids to show off their talents in the kitchen.
CARROT CAKE APPLE DONUTS
Preparation: 10 minutes
Serves: 4
Ingredients:
4 apples
1/3 cup light Greek-style yoghurt
1 carrot, grated
16 sultanas
1 tbs pumpkin seeds
Method:
Slice apples and use a small cookie cutter to remove cores.
Spread yoghurt over each apple slice.
Scatter carrot, sultanas and pumpkin seeds over the yoghurt
Top tip: Change up the recipe by creating your own signature flavoured donut. Some examples could include using fruits to make a strawberry jam or cinnamon flavoured apple donut.
SUNSHINE SMOOTHIE
Preparation: 5 minutes
Serves: 4
Ingredients:
2½ cups milk
½ cup frozen mango
1 banana
½ cup frozen cauliflower
1 punnet raspberries
Method:
Mix the mango, cauliflower and ¾ of the milk in a blender until smooth.
Carefully pour the mixture into 4 glasses.
Pour the rest of the milk and ¾ of the raspberries into the blender and blend until combined.
Carefully pour this mixture on top of the mango mixture in each glass.
Top with the remaining raspberries.
Top tip: Try creating a similar recipe with blueberries and strawberries!
